Mum, R.I.P.
gddik
Mum’s funeral took place yesterday, at Springwood Crematorium in Liverpool.
It all went like clockwork - no hitches, I’m pleased to say. I didn’t fumble my speech, and the minister (who was very good) didn’t get the grand-childrens’ names wrong (as the one at my Dad’s funeral did, three years ago…)
Everyone enjoyed the little gathering that we’d organised after the service too, and the sun shone for her.
It was all very dignified and respectful, and she’d have been pleased by how it went.
A fitting goodbye, I think.
But, please - let this be the last one, at least for a good long while. This was the third funeral I’ve had to speak at - first my Dad, then my wife, and now my Mum, all within the last three years.
I’d like a bit of a break now.
