What the…?

Ever since I was an ickle boy, I’ve enjoyed bird-spotting, although I couldn’t call myself an expert. Last Saturday was an enjoyable interlude, as I took my visiting sister and brother-in-law to the nearby RSPB reserve at Conwy, for the want of something better to do. Our enterprise was rewarded with the sight of loads of, for me anyway, previously-unseen species. Sunday was good, too, as I managed to get a few half-decent photos of the dipper that inhabits the stream that runs past my house.
What really took my breath away, though, was this wondrous specimen that was sashaying around in a field not too far from where I live, in amongst a lot of other, more normal-looking ducks and geese.
I have no idea how this mutant came about, unless of course, James Brown strutted his undeniably funky stuff for one last time here in Llanfairfechan, before he dropped off the perch.
Isn’t nature just too wonderful for words?
