Nip and/or tuck

It seems, following my appointment at Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Pre-Surgery Assessment Clinic yesterday, that I’m fit enough to have an operation on the hernia that I’ve been enjoying for the last few months. January 15th. has been pencilled in for the operation, and I’m told that I’ll be back out on the streets the same day. I’m not sure whether this is a good thing or not. I’m no fan of hospital food, but a little TLC wouldn’t go amiss.
The anticipated endoscopy didn’t happen t’other day. Instead, I was asked lots of questions, had blood taken out and tested (”perfect”, apparently) and generally prodded about a bit. The follow-up letter said that there’s a waiting list of up to 14 weeks for this sort of thing, so that’s something to look forward to around March.
So, an incision-free Christmas now looks likely, so I can enjoy the company of Gddik Jr., who came home from University a couple of days ago, and the rest of the family the length and breadth of England and Wales, as I plough a furrow around the country to visit them.
Lucky them.
