The Oscars

February 26th, 2007 by gddik

I had hoped that by coming to Andalucia (sounds so much better than the Costa del Sol, doesn´t it?) that I´d be able to avoid all the hype about the non-event that is the Oscars.

Unfortunately not.

It´s been rammed down our neck by all of the media for what seems like weeks, perhaps due to the faint possibility that someone from Blighty might actually win one (apparently).

Now that it´s over, I do seem to have succeeded in avoiding hearing the results, for the moment at least.

Still, the build-up to next year´s event can´t be far away.

Then there are the BAFTAs, the Grammies, Soap of the Year (wtf??), the Brits, the Mercury Prize, Book of the Year awards…..

Yaaaaawwwwwwn.
